24 hours to go, and we have a problem...
The Made 'N Thornbury market starts in 24 hours, and I'm one busy bee! I'm back to crazy multi-tasking, but this time without the tap dancing- although if I had another cup of coffee I'm sure I'd be doing that too! If you want to check out who'll be at the market, head over to the Curly Pops blog- lovely Cam's done an amazing photographic roundup.
It's been a pretty productive week, and I've finished a range of snap pouches, passport covers, travel tissue holders, Pepperberry & Co. labels, and business cards. I'm still finishing off mini tote bags, and I'm about to get started on notebook covers. So much to do, so little time...
The problem right now doesn't lie in what I have, however; it's what I don't have that's the issue: a table and a tablecloth. WHOA! I've heard they're a slight priority at a market. So, unless my luck changes between now and tomorrow, you'll be able to spot my stall immediately: I'll be the one on the blankets on the floor! Thanks to all the wonderful suggestions, though, it'll be a lovely floor stall, complete with lollies, colour and price tags everywhere.
I'm off to sew, panic, iron, chew my nails, sew some more, and hunt down a table. Wish me luck!

Oh man...the table cloth would not be a problem but the table might be. Can you rent one?
Good Luck! And that's a beautiful table you pictured. I'd love one of those.
Mindy- Great idea, I'll try that!
L. Jane E.- Me too, at the moment!! :-)
Good luck! What a about a clothes airer with things pegged on, an upside down box/washingbasket/stool with some interesting fabric over the top, or even your ironing board. Sometimes you have to think beyond the table!
Shops like The Warehouse (Sam's Warehouse? Whatever it's called this month) has great cheap solutions for our displaying dilemmas. I don't think I've got anything around the house I can lend you, but if I think of something I'll let you know.
Now, back to turning Diet Coke cartons into cushion stands!
Ironing boards! An ironing board with a tablecloth over it equals a table!
Tressle table from Bunnings. Camping tables from friends. urmm
Good luck with the market - hope you make lots of contacts and sell a bundle of things.
I think that with the creativity amongst my readers we could solve world issues :-) An update for you all: I've sourced tablecloths; the lovely Nikki from My Black Cardigan is lending me a sexy 3-tier cake stand; and Sharon is considering building me a table tonight from floorboards if we don't find anything at Sam's Warehouse. Thank you all! xx
Whatever you find, I know that tomorrow will be perfect. I will be thinking of you and wondering how your show goes. I wish I could come and see it in person.
And remember... Displays don't have to be flat, accordion folding screens can have lots of stuff hanging off of them, and no need for a table.
How about a big overcoat with all your wares pinned to the inside. Open furtively whilst whispering. "Dya need a tissue cover?"
have fun!!
Hello Miss Pebberberry.
I wish you SO much luck at the stall, on the floor or maybe with all the crafty things displayed on af few flowerdecorated latters. Is that how it's spelled???
Anyway, i'll be waiting anciously on new reports after the weekend. :-)
Lots of hugs from Denmark
Good luck at the stall on Saturday! Can't wait to see pictures of your wares :)
have a happyt day Sandra!!! I'm sure you will!!! :)
of course that should of said "happy" day
Hey Sandra... I'm sure you and Sharon have worked something out by now, but I was going to say you can always prop the panels of wood up with milk crates - and they can double as containers to carry all your goodies too!
Hope you get some sleep tonight. See you tomorrow.
It was great to meet you at the market today. I thought your stall and all your goodies were lovely.
...so how was it?? Hope it was fantastic.
I have only just stumbled across your very lovely blog and after a pootle around am on veritable tenterhooks to hear how the blanket-on-floor market went??????
Hi Sandra, it was so lovely to meet you at the market! Absolutely loved your stall and your skill with a neutral palette. Did I overhear someone correctly though - you're not going to be at the September one? :-(
Check out www.sonnyandcoco.com.au for a new market starting in Preston, and applications are still open for the Northcote Winter Artisan Market www.northcotetownhall.com.au - maybe see you at one of those!
Good luck at the market! Looking forward to pics and anecdotes upon your return... :)
Hope the market went well Sandra! I saw pics of your stall over at Nikki's - everything was presented so attractively - can't wait to see more:)
